The Friends of the Chatham Public Library (FCPL) is an all-volunteer, not for profit organization whose goal is to support the Chatham Library in a manner that is consistent with the Library’s own goals. The Friends have been granted 501C(3) status which means that all donations are tax-deductible.

The FCPL receives no tax-payer or government funding. It is totally dependent on grants and donations. More than half the money raised by the FCPL comes from individual supporters. Funds received by the Friends are used to sponsor a variety of programs and events, including the Authors and Artists Series of talks, the Museum Pass Program, the Summer Reading Program for children and IndieFlix, which allows patrons to stream hundreds of films in their own homes.

Membership Information:

More than half of the funds raised by FCPL come from individual contributions from the Library’s service area and those who participate in events. Persons can contribute any amount. FCPL has these categories: Student/Senior $15, Individual $20, Family $30, Benefactor $50, Patron $100, and Best Friend $100+
